Personality: Zeke is all about getting things done; he's never been one to do things halfway, and frowns on anyone who does. If a problem raises it's head, he's the person that's usually called upon to fix it. Generally speaking, it takes a lot to make him lose his cool. There are only a handful of people who've seen him genuinely angry, and the majority of them have no desire to experience that again. When faced with a problem he can't easily deal with, he's been known to hide away in his flat for days at a time. Practically no one knows that that time is spent furiously painting, something he's inherited from his mother. Appearance: Ezekiel is a tad below average height, standing around 5'10" tall. His hair is kept long, though it's almost always well groomed. His facial hair is always shaved in an attempt to keep up the 'all business, all the time' look. He's almost always seen in a suit of sorts, at least when at work. On his travels abroad he's more likely to be seen in a pair of jeans and t-shirt, preferring the comfort and mobility in such attire. PB: Jim Sturgess History: Elias Kerwit and Melanie Summerby met one fateful afternoon in London. Elias was a rather wealthy muggle, being the CEO of an American muggle medicine company. He was surprised by the sheer beauty of Melanie (a witch), and pursued her as a man who gets what he wants does. The two courted for a year before Melanie finally told him her secret, which sealed the deal, in an odd twist of fate. Two years later a baby boy was born to a very happy couple; Ezekiel was named after his grandfather, who died some time before. Ezekiel grew up in Maine, raised by his mother with some help from hired professionals. He was a rather curious child and spent the majority of his early life playing in the huge garden they had, when weather permitted. When the weather did not allow for such activities, his mother would paint with him, often encouraging her son to 'think outside the box', though he really had no idea what that meant at that age. His relationship with his father was good, if a bit tense sometimes, but he still learned quite a bit from him. The decision on whether or not he should be sent to Wizarding school was a battle, more than anything. His mother wanted him to experience Hogwarts, while his father wanted to continue grooming him as his protoge`. His mother eventually won, and the entire family was uprooted and moved to London. He desperately wanted to be a Ravenclaw, but was sorted into Hufflepuff. He was rather friendly through-out his time spent at the school, though he made more acquaintances than he did friends. In his fifth year he tried out for Seeker and made the team; it was around this time he started chumming with Terrance Boot, a friendship that's recently been rekindled. After school, he began traveling the world, looking to discover new plants that could be used in his father's up-and-coming Apothecary business. This continued for seven years before his father finally took him on as a partner. His time spent traversing the globe and setting up clientèle had provided them invaluable business, as did his time spent toiling in various jungles and deserts. His mother's untimely death revealed many things about her side of the family; namely that she'd been a Summerbee, but had changed it after it became known that her parents were Death Eaters. It was also revealed to him that Felix Summerbee is one of his great uncles. His mother's death hit him quite hard. He stayed in his flat for two months, barely eating and drinking. Sleep was a comfort he did not welcome, and he rarely left the comfort of his Art room save to purchase more paints. Since then, two years have passed, and he's grown increasingly closer to his father. He still leaves the country on occasion, but spends the majority of his time perfecting potions and attending meetings. Political alliance, and reason for this choice: Anti-Voldemort. The dark side of the Wizarding world has always been a huge turn-off to Zeke, and the idea that people are different because of who they're related to has always struck him as ignorant. Anything else we should know about the character? His father is no longer in the muggle medicine business, but still owns stock in it; he's also working to get involved in the muggle relations department at the ministry. | |||||||||
